In association with The Architectural Review and the Architects’ Journal, the aim of the W Programme is to create better and healthier working environments for everyone in architecture and related industries, moving away from patriarchal power structures to foster a culture of respect and equal opportunities.
Gender inequalities do not exist in isolation; they intersect and overlap with other causes of disadvantage and discrimination. Previously known as Women in Architecture, the W Programme promotes diversity, inclusion and care in practice through a yearly series of inspiring lectures, mentoring sessions, thought-provoking panel discussions, networking and social events designed for its members, the W Partners.
The W Programme resumed in January this year, with activities taking place both in the UK and online. The AR and the AJ invite practices working in the built environment – architecture, engineering, landscape, urban design, property, construction, etc – as well as educational institutions to join forces by becoming a W Partner.
